Careful

Careful
Stop and wait, said the lady at the gate
step too close
to the natural noose
and find out exactly
what it is that cooks, a goose

Careful
love does bite
in the morning
and into the night

Roll, roll roll
into the light of mornings fall
into the depth of evenings black pearl
into the severe wave of love, unrestrained

Careful careful
time is uncertain
waste too much, often not enough
the sense of ability is often
over played

Careful careful you’ll fall into the pit
where life stirs it’s most redeeming
bliss
players all
big, thin, fat or tall
Inescapable victims of loves perilous
fall

Careful, careful, careful, careful
careful, careful, careful , careful
time misspent
Yields memories never never…
never ever
Remembered without curls of lips
floating around as gallant ships

Careful, careful, careful

What a sky

Oh my
oh my ….what a sky
one so red
and blue too
is this the first
or end of you
Oh my
what a sky
the red fades
blue rules the day
blue that loves the like of you
love the like
of me and you
Oh my
what a sky
One once so blue
red now. ..I’m alone
oh my
the to do is now
The field of love, battle and equality is…
NOW

Winters breath

A last of winters harsh breath
culls my legs and nose and the rest
to north and south
and to tear drops only said
I’m yours, allow me
to be you one, you said
Leave us to lust
as children new and old
am I to know
what little has come before
Am I only the one left alone
am I singular the one
called to home
Or am I rich
held within not Satan’s breath
but walking alone
along the river we all want to own
And am I the one
who speaks to all and none
am I the one
chosen to pick which sun
sets upon the ache of
……..

4th week

On the fourth week
Of every other sun-down
A list of them have passed
Some who have yet to stood down..

Stood in March
Ready to carry life’s convincing ever-last
Strife and where
only those who once where young
Fought against an angry sons, sum

Rest now in, class of all
We did our best, to make things better last
We did things then, to better last

Yet make no mistake
What we didn’t then
Left restless thoughts and ideas
Struck within
Hollow hopes of new times all
And ideals
Where all of us, were best of all
Where all of us were better all

War drums

And for what time
does the widows walk
last until what’s lost
is forgot
Or is it until war drums beat
gently fade into evenings heat
and rest comes cool
Harsh memories, to sleep
