Sharp Day

When the sharp day ends

And the dull night begins

I grab a drink

And gaze into clouds

Into where

Life begins

It’s there where my thoughts are bare

Exposed for all the cosmos’s shepherds

To reel me in to be fair

Oh how I wonder what waits for me there

When I slip from earth’s harsh glare

It’s there where I want to reside

Where time and place for me are, set aside

There I will roam so free

Amongst the spirits who have come before me

I hope I see old friends, I knew

Like the ones my dreams have to me, so

I wonder what they would say about me

Living longer than most would care to see

But alas I’m afraid the die is cast

Tomorrows sharp day will cut another path

Until it too rests amongst life’s deceased fools

Who dance within the cosmos’s other souls

So rest my friends and know that all is, and will come to an end

You see

Or a moment only

Until the stars grab your life’s book, wholly

And welcome you, until end of time

Of present and past lives

Of yours’ and……of course mine
