Mortality

Mortality rises

below the swells of life’s-sea
Reckless
Sudden
Absent of mind

Mortality comes to remind us
This we see till life’s joy-
ride ends sometimes
Before our fall
With business finished and some left
To all

Trick is, rise before the fall of time
Not get cheated
of what little yards are ours to hide

Yet this we know
Tis a sorry time for all
If one or more
Wrestles gain from a fallen snow
Dear prices not owed to all, or none you know
Wrestles gain from my fallen snow
